Change, a scary word for many because it refers to a turn in our plans, but to God it is just the plan all along. Due to the global pandemic and safety of the racers, the world race gap year has changed it’s plans for this year. So, what does that look like? Well let’s start with the things that are going to be the same. I’m still going to all three countries we were originally planning on going to: Romania, South Asia, and Costa Rica! We will still be serving the community and showing the love of Jesus to the locals, but now we are adding another place to service and love! This one is just a bit more local. Here is where we start switching things up. The place we are adding to our route is Georgia here in the States. So what that means is instead of just going to Georgia for a couple of weeks for training camp before launching to Romania, we will be staying there for the first 4 months of our journey with the race. We will receive extensive missionary training, and we will be able to service the local communities there in Georgia. Then, January of 2021 we will be launching to Romania. We will be in each country for about a month and a half. As far as fundraising goes though it is still the same, $15,800. I currently have almost half of that because of the amazingly generous people God has placed in my life. Now, I know you probably have MANY questions for me and I would love to hear them and try to answer them as best as I can! We still don’t know exactly what everything is going to look like, but we are trusting in God. Just like in everything, He will guide us in the next steps.
At the beginning of last summer, I knew God was calling me to be His servant this next year no matter what that looked like, and I said yes. So, even though my plans have changed, this was God’s plan from the start, and that’s the plan I’m trusting in. Now, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t disappointed about change of plans, but one thing God has taught me over and over again is that his way is always better. Even if it’s not what I thought I wanted. He said trust me, and I am. I am committed to be God’s vessel and serve him wherever I go in the world whether it’s here in America or across the world.
