Next Location: Dominican Republic
Yep, that is right we are in the Dominican Republic already! We left Costa Rica on Friday the 19th at 5am and arrived in the DR on Saturday the 20th at 4:30am. It was definitely a loooonnnnggg travel day, but we made it to the beautiful mountains of the DR. This past week has been our first week of ministry and it has been amazing! We are partnering and staying with, Hope for DR, ministry. https://www.hope4drnow.org/. The hosts are Ruben and Vicki Dominguez. Our ministry due to covid looks a little different over these next two months though. My squad is split up into our teams, Zao, Mesa, Fervent, and Quo Vadis. Each week we have a different ministry. There are four categories creative, property, administration, and outreach. Creative helps the host’s daughter with coming up with skits and devotions to use for her youth ministry she has started. Property is a bunch of different things, but basically, it is taking care of the land and the animals that live on it as well as anything else that needs to be done on it. Administration helps in the office doing paperwork, promoting, or whatever else Vicki needs help with. Outreach does things with the community like prayer walks, food distributions, and helping come up with things to help the people of the community. This week my team, Zao, were on creative and it was such an amazing experience! We worked with the leader of the creative team Jaime Rodriguez and we come up with a skit about where our worth is found and we also choreographed a dance to Lauren Daigles’ song, you say, in Spanish. It was such a cool experience to really meet with the Lord and ask him what he says about us and our worth in him. I’m so excited to see what the next two months are going to look like and what the Lord has in store for this community, my squad, and for me! Until next time, Esther Collins.
Esther-
I can’t wait to see a video of the “you say” song. I love that song! What interesting and challenging ministry teams you have now. Praying for strength and health for your whole squad.
Sounds like you are getting a wonderful start in the DR! I will be praying for your ministry there. Sounds like you had a wonderful first week of service. I would love to see a video of your choreography!
Love and Prayers!
